C4S Enrichment Activities
Circle4Success has more than one reason that we believe enrichment activities are important for our King’s Kids. While having fun activities is a plus for any children’s program, the enrichment activities help to address many of the community and developmental issues our urban children face. This makes the specifics of our enrichment activities even more significant.
With enrichment activities available that cover movement, music, art and communication, our Kids are receiving significant opportunities to broaden their horizons and receive a developmental boost to their learning.
Circle Urban is taking enrichment to a whole new level. Beginning in the fall of 2010 we are launching a Performance-Based Enrichment Program. Taking a portion of the enrichment activities and designing them to focus on the development of a high quality performance will bring significant benefits to the youth involved and provide some great entertainment for those in the audience. Dance and Acrobatics - help the Kids develop self-control, balance, hand/eye coordination and small group bonding. Dance especially promotes creativity and imagination in movement.
Keyboarding (piano), Drumline, Recorder - All of the children are learning to read music. The music is also helpful with hand/eye coordination, developing a sense of rhythm and memorization. Disciplined music learning is also excellent in helping develop math skills.
Newsletter and Comic Art - These activities are great for helping with the development of creative abilities as well as the Kids need to learn and follow step-by-step processes for the projects that they are working on.
Chess Club - Chess helps to develop logic and mind processes in the children and that all important ability to think strategically.
If you have a profession or serious hobby that you think would be an enriching opportunity for our children, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Alicia, to talk about how that might be implemented. Her phone is (773) 854-1609 and her email is volunteer@circleurban.org.
We also have need of financial support for enrichment activities. If you're able to help with that please click the Donate Now button to the left and select the Arts Program designation option.
