Community Care Serves The Hungry
Daily Bread Food Pantry

Circle Urban Ministries serves thousands of bags of food each year to needy families and individuals through the Daily Bread Food Pantry. Neighborhood residents can visit Daily Bread up to once each month. They not only receive nutritionally balanced food packages but also receive spiritual nourishment as our chaplains deliver a gospel message.

Pray for Daily Bread Food Pantry Clients

Every week we ask for prayer requests from our Food Pantry clients as they are being served. We have been struck by the significance of the requests and how much they appreciate being prayed for. Staff and the chaplains have been praying, but we think that you, the friends and supporters of the program would like to be involved as well.

Follow the link to go to the Prayer Requests for the past four weeks. Every week we will add a file for new requests. Thank you for this additional participation in God's ministry to our community through Circle Urban.

A Great Way to Support the Daily Bread Food Pantry

Another way to support the Daily Bread Food Pantry is to volunteer at the GCFD on Circle Urban's behalf. You can volunteer as an individual or take a group to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and register as volunteers to benefit Circle Urban Ministries' food pantry. The Food Depository will credit our account for every volunteer's time. The GCFD provides food to their member pantries at an extremely low cost, so the benefit from your volunteer time is significant!

Circle's Pantry Receives Jewel/Osco Grant

Our Pantry Coordinator, Alicia Douglas (center in the photo above), was on hand recently to receive a Jewel/Osco grant award at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Jewel/Osco provides significant resources to help alleviate hunger in its market area. Circle Urban received the grant which will help defray the cost of food from the GCFD and help fund a part-time Americorps staff person.
