It is the best of times...it is the worst of times.
- I have never been more excited about what God is doing in and through Circle Urban Ministries in the Austin neighborhood.
- And, we have never been more challenged to keep those programs going and growing with the resources that are coming to us.
Great excitement: Our youth development efforts are bearing amazing fruit with the kids “getting it”, deciding to make God their King and follow Him, and in turn having an impact for the Kingdom in their families (circleurban.org/after.htm). Our LIFT Performing Arts Program is going strong, with an exciting performance coming in May with the kids growing in confidence and skill. (circleurban.org/LIFT.htm)
And our Community Care Food Pantry is more needed than ever. Every week, we communicate God’s love by providing for physical needs as well as holding folks up in prayer before the Lord. (circleurban.org/pantry_prayer.htm). In the words of one participant,
“The love I receive from Circle Urban is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”.
Great Challenges: We have never been more challenged to keep programs going with the resources that are coming to us. Honestly, we are at a point where we need to reduce or cut our staff again. Two years ago we went enacted reductions that impacted the administrative side the most, now it will impact our programs significantly.
That is why I am sharing with you today. Some of you have invested in the ministry of Circle Urban for many years, some are brand new to the Ministry. Would you prayerfully consider making a special gift now that may allow us to keep our programs intact, serving those who are most in need?
We are stretched. Simultaneously we're so excited about how our programs are changing lives and also challenged with the lack of financial resources. We believe with all our hearts that we are doing what the Lord wants for Circle Urban Ministries. We think of you as a stake-holder with us and appreciate your consideration of this request. I know that together we can pool our efforts and resources and continue to impact the Austin neighborhood for the Kingdom of God.
