Back to school
Dear Father God,
We thank You that You led and guided us and gave wisdom as we opened Circle-Rock Preparatory School on September 4, 1995. Thank You for laying a firm foundation. Help us to continue to build a Romans 15 school.
May this school be a refuge for the Austin neighborhood, a place where children and their families can come to receive help for their academic, social, emotional, aesthetic, spiritual and physical needs (15:1);
May this school be a place where teachers and staff assume the responsibility for teaching all children and where it is assumed that all children can learn (15:1);
May it be a place of excellent instruction and hard work, where students' lives and essential skills are built up and their faith increased and where respect is both given and received (15:2);
May it be a Christ-centered school, where Jesus is held up as a model for Christian character development (15:3);
May it be a place where all classrooms are filled with The Word, where Scriptures are known and applied, and where all decisions are filtered through a Biblical and Theological sieve (15:4);
May it be a place of prayer, where endurance and encouragement are sought from the God of Hope (15:4-5);
May it be a place of unity and reconciliation, where rich and poor, black and white, boys and girls, can work and learn together in harmony under the lordship of Christ (15:5-6);
May it be a place of acceptance where love is extended to all because we are all made in the image of God (15:7);
May it be a school focused on the glory of God, where God is glorified for His mercy (15:9-11);
May it be a place where the Holy Spirit is asked to care for His students by guiding them and giving them hope, peace and joy (15:9);
May it be a school where staff are servants for the sake of extending compassion and mercy to the children and families of the Austin neighborhood (15: 2, 8, & 9);
May it be a place where our students' lives are so built up that they will choose to prepare themselves for future Christian service, proclaiming the Gospel of God and working for Christian alternatives to the status quo.
"To the only wise God, be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen." (Romans 16:27).
