Lift Every Voice
Performance-based
Enrichment Program Teams

Maybe you've been to your child's performance as part of a Christmas Pageant at the grade school or Sunday school. We all sit and chuckle when one of the kids does something not included on the program. When it is our child or sibling up on stage we cut a lot of slack in our expectations.

For some reason, when we are one of the performers, when we know that someone besides Mom is watching our performance, we want to try a little harder. We want to be sure everything is tight. We want it to look good!

As we look to enhance our enrichment efforts we are taking that principle and incorporating it into our enrichment program. We have begun the "Lift Every Voice" Performance-based Enrichment Program Teams, called PEP Teams for short. These four PEP teams include percussion, acrobatics, dance and spoken word.

We believe that the lessons learned from applying hard work to a task, sacrificing for the 'good of the team', the focus and discipline of learning skills to be performed at a high level all combine to radically impact those involved, now and in the future.

So, for the coming C4S program year, we are focusing these four enrichment activities toward a performance that will be entertaining to a broad audience.

In the spring of 2011, Lift Every Voice will be presenting a choreographed full-length program performed by the PEP Team kids that weaves together the enrichment activities offered. The program promises to be entertaining, showcasing achievement, and offering all involved, including the audience, a sense of working toward something that is larger than just their particular role.
