Purpose of Urban Perspectives

So many of the conclusions people come to are subjective and based upon our perspective, which is based upon our life experience.  We can create barriers when we believe that our perspective is objective truth and discount those whose life experience has given them a vastly difference perspective.

The limitation of physical sight offers a good analogy.  The broadest our field of vision can physically be is 180 degrees.  Most of us have less.  That means AT BEST we miss half of what is happening around us...UNLESS, we adjust our point of view (i.e. turn our head.)

So this little column is called Urban Perspectives because it is my “point of view” as an urban leader.  At times we’ll post a perspective from other urban leaders.  Our desire is to get you to turn your head, change your perspective, to notice something you might not have seen before.
