Volunteer with us!

Discover the Joy of volunteering.

Volunteers help make our world go around!  Without these special friends of the ministry our resources would be stretched even further and much would go undone.  And, there is no better way for you to get to know us at Circle Urban Ministries than by spending time in a volunteer role.

We aren’t the only ones to benefit from volunteers.  Many comment about their volunteer time here saying “I have gotten back as much or more than I gave!”  That seems to be the rule rather than the exception.

There are numerous opportunities for you to “plug-in” here at Circle Urban:

  • Become a 1-to-1 Mentor giving 1 hour per week for a year.  (See our Mentoring Program)
  • Volunteer with Circle4Success, our after-school enrichment program
  • Help in our food pantry by helping to prepare packages for our clients
  • Administrative assistance – let us know what skills you would like to share
  • Buildings and grounds can use help with special projects.  You can as an individual, or bring a team from your church or organization
  • Volunteer at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on Circle Urban's behalf. They will credit our food account for the time you and/or your group help out

Short-term or long-term.  One time or an on-going connection.  There are many ways for you to get connected and participate in Circle Urban’s ministry to the Austin community.

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Alicia at (773) 854-1609 or email her at volunteer@circleurban.org and let us know how you would like to partner in our ministry

Visit our Circle Urban Volunteer Project Page!

We want our volunteers to know how important they are to us and how much we appreciate them. To that end we have just set up a special project page that lists upcoming and past projects. You can look for opportunities to plug into a project, and afterward visit the page again to look at photographs taken of project!

Go to Project Sign-up and check out the upcoming events. When you click on a project you will be taken to its page with a link for you to register as a participant in the project. The links for past projects include photo collections of those projects for you to enjoy.

A Special Volunteer!

Since the fall of 2008 we have been blessed to have a very special volunteer helping the high school participants of our Mentoring Program. Linda is a retired high school math teacher who felt led to volunteer as a tutor after she came to help with a renovation project with her church in the summer of 2008. The video below contains comments from some of the youth she is tutoring.
