Emergency Fund - We were approached by the Emergency Fund toward the end of 2009. Their purpose is to provide emergency financial assistance to individuals to address issues of housing, hunger and employment. Circle Urban is their first partner organization in the Austin neighborhood.

Within the first week of participation beginning February 1, we were able to assist two families in significant ways. In one family the mother had lost her job and was in danger of losing their apartment. While not providing all of the rent, we were able to help with a good faith payment to keep the family housed. The second situation was a man who had lost his security job. He found another firm to hire him, but he needed to buy a uniform in order to begin working. We were able to pay the cost of his uniform and he is now working!

Life on Life Acrobatics - Especially, young boys need a physical outlet for their energy. Life on Life Acrobatics provides that outlet for their energy in a positive environment. We provide an atmosphere of safety to exert that youthful energy in a positive way.

Operating at Circle Urban, within the Circle4Success After-School Program, the mission of Life on Life Acrobatics is to mentor at-risk urban youth using arts and sports within a community of teachers, coaches, mentors and peers.

The goals for the program include:
1) Provide a positive and instructive physical outlet for children
2) Introduce children to the sport of gymnastics/acrobatics
3) Provide instructors who are also positive role models
4) Teach and encourage positive Christian character development

Program Blogs - One of the things that keeps us excited and motivated at Circle Urban is hearing about how God is working 'right now' in our programs. Three of our programs have begun to Blog (web log) about what is going on. We're sure you will be encouraged too! Just follow the links below to read some exciting stories.

New Logo - In considering how God has continued to bring renewal to this ministry and our community, we came to the conclusion that it was time to bring a fresh look to Circle Urban Ministries.

Reflecting that renewal, we wanted a new logo that show more than our location. We wanted to reflect our efforts to bring transformation to our urban community; a transformation that comes through changed lives.

We are very excited with the new logo. We see it as the ministry encircling and embracing our urban environment, and the portrayal of joy and transformation through faith in action.
