What we run
Learning does not stop when the bell rings. Circle keeps the day going with tutoring, the arts, mentorship, and paid leadership roles for older students.
A Level 1 CPS charter school on our campus, serving over 520 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Through its partnership with Sistema Ravinia, Catalyst is home to one of the largest African American elementary school orchestras in the nation.
After-school and summer enrichment for more than 100 young people, focused on academic support, social-emotional learning, and leadership development. Each scholar gains 881 additional hours of academic enrichment across the year.
Older students step into paid summer roles leading younger scholars. They earn, they mentor, and they build the record that opens the next door.
A student’s story
Tariq sees the world differently, and that is his superpower. When he discovered stop-motion filmmaking through Circle’s Creative Writing program, something clicked.
With his classmate Sincere, he has built dozens of original films, each one crafted frame by frame, 100 to 300 individual images per video, with sound effects and dialogue. Every film is hours of patience and collaboration.
